TOUR OPTIONS:

THE ESSENTIALS FOOD TOUR

This 4 hour (2.5km) tour focuses on tasting a variety of different traditions and food cultures in Cape Town around the Bo-Kaap, De Waterkant, Greenpoint, and the V & A Waterfront.

Each stop is also an opportunity to learn about the history of the cultures involved; the food and locations always relate back to important aspects of Capetonian heritage, especially about how the different communities developed together.

We touch base on the VOC, Slave Trade and Apartheid and how they both played a vital part in local cuisine as well as in the national consciousness of South African culture.

We stop at the following restaurants: The Charles Cafe, The Fireman's Arms, and Misfits by the Ideas Cartel.

TASTE OF AFRICA TOUR

This 4 hour (1.5km) tour focuses on the contributions of different African and South Africa communities to Cape Town’s culture and cuisine.

By engaging with the food and people we will learn about their heritage and the circumstances that brought them to South Africa together. We touch base on the City Centre's history regarding slavery and apartheid as we make our way through the CBD and end off in in CBD.

We stop at the following restaurants: Meeting Point, Madam Taitou, Zanne's Fare, and Openwine.
